Event Sponsorship
Trade show Sponsorships is a huge business. Many companies spend millions and millions of dollars every year by spending on sponsorships. Finding the right event sponsors for your conference will prove to be a mutually beneficial opportunity for both you and the company sponsoring the event because it will give them the proper exposure to a specific and targeted audience while you on the other hand shall have the resources to organize the said event.
What is important is to be able to communicate your event goals and objectives clearly to your prospective sponsor. You should also understand what they need in return in order to build a good sponsorship package. Approach your prospect with a intent of developing a long-term partnership with them that should not end with the event. This way, the company would have a broader perspective on the investment that they are going to make.
The next thing is to take a look at your audience to see if they are the same market being eyed by your prospects. Once you have done this, you may create your sponsorship package depending on the needs and wants of the sponsor, whether it be recognition, access to the participant database, media mileage or marketing opportunities throughout the event.
A few ideas for you to toy around with could be the constant recognition of the sponsoring organization during the event, production of items such as shirts and caps with their logo, banner ads on your event website with links to the company site, media mileage through viral videos or print ads and promotional materials that bear their logo such as banners, posters, streamers etc.
And lastly, what you can do is ask the sponsoring company how they want to be more involved in the event. Do not stop with a package with stock benefits. Once you get ideas from your discussion, try to incorporate it in the sponsorship brochure and send it back to the sponsoring company to finally seal the deal.
