15 April, 2011
Renewable Energy is moving forward, and so is I-Renew! We are excited to announce that we are re-tooling our much loved annual I-Renew Energy Expo to be more inclusive and comprehensive than ever. We envision this as an important step on the evolutionary path of Expo, one that will integrate I-Renew’s proud do-it-yourself tradition with Iowa’s academic and corporate communities to bring you the latest in Renewable Energy from all players. To that end, we’re taking this fall off – but will proudly present the Iowa Renewable Energy Symposium on the campus of the University of Iowa in Iowa City on the last weekend of April in 2011 for our 20th anniversary event!

The Iowa Renewable Energy Symposium will integrate academic rigor and popular public outreach to inspire Iowa’s transformative sustainable energy potential through, education, innovation and application. The goal for this event is to maintain Iowa’s momentum in energizing the future through, sustainable technology, bio-energy agriculture and innovative investment leadership. In conjunction with the Sustainability Offices of the State Universities the educational non-profit organization I-Renew will co-host the Iowa Renewable Energy Symposium. Symposium events will include academic and professional focused gatherings with training seminars and job fairs during the week and then transition to an entertaining family focused renewable energy fair over the weekend. The weekend event will build on the do-it-yourself renewable energy training tradition of the I-Renew energy expo with the addition of large manufacturer and Utility representation showing how small community groups and large commercial or state sponsored programs can work together to sustain future generations. The event will also feature nationally recognized speakers in RE and environmental issues, so be sure to check back frequently for updates on this exciting event.
