International Aquarium Congress 2016

Taking place every four years, the Congress has been held around the world, including Europe, the Americas and Asia since its inception in 1960. The Congress provides the scientific community with the latest on marine life research, extending the opportunity to discuss global and local issues and sharing successful initiatives. The 2012 IAC in South Africa took place in Cape Town. The torch has now been passed to the Vancouver Aquarium which—with the help of its 400+ staff and over 1,000 volunteers— is planning for an incredible experience from September 25 to 30, 2016. As a founding IAC member, and an integral part of the worldwide network of aquariums, we value and understand the importance of cultivating relationships, advancing our practices and initiating collaborative discussions. We look forward to having innovative and important discussions on the world’s oceans, our natural world and our Aquarium's important role with you in September 2016. The IAC is the only international platform that gathers decision makers and professionals from the global public aquarium community to share and learn about new developments in the fields of inter alia animal husbandry, research, technology, management, education, conservation and sustainability.
