Domestic tourism, baby boomer and family oriented interests in nature-based recreational activities indicate an increasing demand for camping and RVing creating opportunities for marketing organizations, communities and businesses to capitalize on this growing tourism sector. This presentation will discuss how marketing organizations, communities and businesses have an opportunity to capitalize on the growing camping and RVing tourism sector.
This session provides an overview of:

    * Key trends such as, RV Ownership, RV and camper travel trends, park closures, RV Park supply and future opportunities
    * What industry and government are doing to establish British Columbia as a sustainable camping and RVing destination
    * Camping and RVing BC Coalition marketing initiatives
    * The economic value and key success factors for attracting and retaining RV park and campground development in communities.

In this session attendees will:

    * Learn about the importance of RV park and campground development to community economic development and how key trends such as consumer expectations and fuel prices may impact the sector
    * Hear about what industry and government have been doing to promote this tourism sector
    * Understand the key success factors for attracting and retaining RV park development in their community
    * Share their experience on capturing this growing and important tourism sector

The presentation will be approximately 60 minutes in length to be followed by an open discussion from the floor.
