The Salon des métiers d'art du Québec, nonprofit organization that was founded in 1955, is the rendezvous of choice for anyone wanting to find a handmade object, a work or a novel discovery of the most original. The eight families crafts (ceramics, wood, textile, leather and skins, paper, glass, metals and other materials) in order to offer a wide range of decorative or utilitarian objects of great quality.
Considered the largest exhibition and sale of crafts professionals in Canada, the event stormed the Place Bonaventure in Montreal, and for several days of activity. As we approach the holiday season, more than 200 000 visitors who come to inquire of the original creations of the 400 exhibitors attending professionals.
Bringing together relevant actors and crafts, the show is also the site of awards of excellence and audience awards. Always eager to adequately represent the community, different exposures are presented. Some unavoidable, return year after year and others take up the time of publishing. The Fair would be complete without the important role it gives to the emergence of a new generation of talented and full of ideas. Often after-school workshops where she was trained by master craftsmen, it is proudly highlighted at the show.
