With a new round of infrastructure construction, ITS is entering into the golden age of development in China. China State Council has launched CNY 4 trillion (USD570 billion) of stimulating package, CNY1.8 trillion (USD260 billion) of which was allotted to infrastructure construction projects in railways, highways, airports etc. In particular, the upcoming World Expo 2010 Shanghai, and the task “Making Shanghai an International Financial Center and Shipping Hub by 2020, are surely accelerating ITS development in China as boosters. Ministry of Transport has launched an ambitious program of infrastructure construction with a total investment of CNY 5 trillion (USD700 billion), which starts in 2009 and be implemented within a 5-year period. According to the new target, Ministry of Railway has planned to build 40,000 kilometers of railway network with a total investment of CNY5 trillion (USD700 billion) from 2009 to 2020.
