COURSE INFORMATION
This full-day workshop is designed for surgeons interested in learning laparoscopic techniques for colon resection. It will consist of interactive, didactic sessions as well as a cadaver lab for application of the techniques discussed.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

-Following this course, participants should be able to:
-Recognize basic principles of laparoscopic colorectal surgery for both benign and malignant disease.
-Identify the indications for various laparoscopic approaches.
-Review intestinal anatomy as it relates to laparoscopy.
-Recognize the basic principles of laparoscopic surgery to include bowel resection and anastomosis.
-Apply laparoscopic principles for hemostasis and soft tissue dissection.
