November 29 - 2, 2010    Orlando FL , USA
The 27th Army Science Conference (ASC), sponsored by the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology), will be held at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes, Orlando, Florida, November 29 - December 2, 2010. The goals of the 27th ASC are to enable Army and DoD leaders, Congress and the public to understand the scope of the Army’s science and technology (S&T) activities in support of the Army and the Nation, and to strategically communicate the S&T community’s efforts to rapidly develop technologies that will enhance the capabilities of the Current Force while enabling the Future Force.

The 27th ASC theme is Transformational Science and Technology – Enabling Full Spectrum Operations. The conference theme conveys the message that the S&T community must be comprehensive and flexible in its approach to facilitate development of advanced capabilities that provide our Soldiers the decisive edge over their adversaries across the full spectrum of conflict, whether it is combating irregular warfare or engaging in major combat operations. As stated in the 2009 Army Modernization White Paper, “Future operations …. will continually span the spectrum of conflict from peace keeping operations to counterinsurgency to major combat operations.” All indications point towards continued Soldier engagement in hybrid warfare, a sliding scale of irregular warfare activities combined with major combat operations, the emphasis toward either end shifting according to prevailing conditions. As the Army must be balanced to engage across the full spectrum of conflict, so must our S&T investment areas be balanced.
