Future Seamless Communication: Packet Core Evolution and Seamless Multimedia Application Platforms (FUSECO) 2010
More information on Future Seamless Communication: Packet Core Evolution and Seamless Multimedia Application Platforms (FUSECO)
The trend towards All-IP networks in fixed and mobile domains, also referred to as Next Generation Network (NGN) and Next Generation Mobile Network, and the increasing demand for the efficient support of multimedia services across various wireless and wireline access networks is accelerating globally. For example, with the intended role out of new wireless broadband access networks, such as the Long Term Evolution (LTE) or WiMax, the interworking with existing 3G, 2G and WLAN access networks becomes crucial. Along with the evolution of the wireline core network and emergence of new overlay control networks, such as the IP Multimedia System (IMS), the wireless domain intelligence is moving out of the different access networks into a common Evolved Packet Core (EPC).
