Held annually in the modern metropolis of Shanghai, the SIPPE one of the most influential petroleum petrochemical exhibitions in the Asia. The event is jointly hosted by state owned enterprises and government affiliated organizations such as Sinopec, China National Petroleum Corp, China National Offshore Oil Corp, the Chinese Petroleum Society, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

The 5th SIPPE is expected to attract over 700 exhibitiors from over 40 countries and regions, 500 VIP procurement personnels and over 25,000 industry related audiences.

For the first time the SIPPE is to be held at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre, the largest exhibition centre in Shanghai - 40,000 square metres in exhibition space with state of the art facilities.
