August 31 - September 3, 2011
This FEBS workshop will include a detailed coverage of a wide range of aspects of organellar signaling and will emphasize the critical importance of signaling to plants and algae. We will address diverse aspects of signaling at all levels of plant and algal organization, starting from single molecules through interorganellar signaling and responses to sensory stimuli induced by abiotic cues such as light and environmental stress. Since chloroplasts are the organelles setting plants/algae apart from animals, special focus will be given to them. However other organelles and crosstalk between them will also be discussed.
