The Brain and Anxiety Workshop 2011

This workshop focuses on evidence based advances in neurobiological research. It deals with three of the anxiety disorders (Panic Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder with some reference to Posttraumatic Stress Disorder). This 2-day workshop includes an overview of brain anatomy, physiology and neurobiology. Emphasis will be on the neurobiological origins of the above mentioned disorders, the effect of development and social factors in the disorders as well as evidence based strategies for effective treatment. Practical handouts will be provided. Information will be complimented with case presentations and interactive discussions. This workshop focuses on ACTIVE LEARNING.
