2011 marks the Sixth year of the annual Sustainable Shipping Conference, which leads the way in debating the next big issues within the industry, while focusing on the realities and practicalities of shipping.
Those involved in the industry have seen the conference evolve as issues of climate change have increasingly come to the fore, placing increasing pressure on the sector to reduce its carbon footprint.
Following on from the 2010 conference held in Miami, which took the issue of sustainability beyond just environmental issues to encompass the wider implications of shipping's life cycle performance, the Sustainable Shipping Conference 2011 will look to allay the fears of the industry by focusing on how collaboration can provide an advantageous and positive experience in meeting impending regulations.
