According to World Health Organisation, an estimated 17.3 million people representing 30% of global death, died from cardiovascular diseases each year. The mortality rate of people died from this disease in China and Japan already reaches 38% and 32% respectively.

Prevention is better than cure. We are pleased to announce that the 4th Asian Preventive Cardiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation Conference 2012 held in Hong Kong on 1-2 December 2012 will deliberately address the prevention strategies against this globally important health problem with special emphasis on the control of various risk factors namely hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, smoking, diabetes mellitus and obesity. There will also be updates on the various pharmacological advancement in the field of preventive cardiology.

Continuous professional education is one of the keys to the success of a quality healthcare system. We are confident that the program will be useful to cardiologists, general physicians, rehabilitation specialists, family doctors, allied health professionals and other healthcare personnel who take care of cardiac patients or are interested in the area of preventive cardiology and cardiac rehabilitaiton.
