ABAV launches the 40th edition of the Tourism Fair of the Americas

The event features changes and innovations aimed at providing business opportunities
to the entire industry of tourism

Provide a space that primarily focuses on product and service marketing, as well as prospection and the striking of new business deals. Based on that concept, the Brazilian Travel Agencies Association – ABAV launches the largest and most important event in its field. ABAV – The Tourism Fair of the Americas celebrates its 40th edition in 2012 and will be held on October 24-26, from 11:00 to 18:00, at the Riocentro Exhibition & Convention Center, Rio de Janeiro. In addition to travel agents and tour operators with executive authority, the event will also gather hosted buyers from Brazil and abroad.

Full of novelties, the first change was to hire a new event organizer. Promo Inteligência Turística, which also promotes the event, is headed by Gisele Lima, who owns extensive experience in tourism marketing and business intelligence and features a unique ability to undertake, plan, create and execute actions in an efficient, effective and innovative way. Due to its experience in planning, deploying and managing domestic and international events, Promo was contracted to manage the 6th Salon of Tourism – Routes of Brazil, which was organized by the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism.

In practice, with its total area of ​​40,000 m² and increased fair areas, ABAV registered a 15% increase in exhibition space sales over the same period last year; 40% of the bookings have been made by a wide variety of businesses, including travel agencies, tour operators, consolidators, airlines, travel assistance card services, car rentals, road haulers, hotel business, resorts, theme parks, event centers, cruise lines, convention & visitors bureaux, associations, professional associations and specialized segments, consulting, and tourist faci
