UrbanTec: Smart Technologies for better cities 2012

Since 2007, for the first time, more people live in cities and urban areas than in rural areas. This forces governments to invest heavily in the training, upgrading and construction of their infrastructures. Sustainable approaches to transport, for efficient construction, Intelligent Energy and water supply are the main challenges that can only be overcome with the help of innovative solutions.
The national top-ranking congress UrbanTec renowned industry representatives to discuss with city officials and scientists the importance of urbanization in the topics of energy and water, building energy efficiency and mobility, and provide an outlook on its "vision of the city in 30 years."
In 2012, the focus is put more on the municipal sector. Among the partners of UrbanTec as last year include the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, acatech, the German Cities and Municipalities, German Cities, BITKOM, ZVEI, the World Bank, the Federal Chamber of Architects and the Latin American Association eV
Under the patronage of the Ministry again for Economic Cooperation and the Federal Environment Ministry supports UrbanTec on the second conference, at which the special projects of the National Climate Initiative and the support measures are presented for the local climate.
