Since February 1950 the Texas Gun Collectors Association (TGCA), an NRA affiliated organization, has been meeting regularly in hotels and meeting halls in various major cities throughout the state, combining association business with fellowship and a free exchange of interests in the world of antique and classic arms collecting.

Considered to be one of the country's leading arms collecting organizations, T.G.C.A. is again meeting twice a year, for three days in Spring and Fall We have finally fixed our dates and these will be the fourth weekend in April (unless there is a conflict with Easter when we shall move to the next weekend) and the third weekend in October. The mainstay of these meetings has always been a weekend show of antique, classic and collectible arms, accoutrements, and accessories, etc., western and Civil War period memorabilia, gambling and saloon paraphernalia, and related ephemera. Today, the show also allows collectible and historic weapons from the early twentieth century. The show is open to members and guests, and, for a small entry fee, the general public.
