It all began in 1870…
The year the General Agricultural Competition was created. The descendant of the country fairs of the 18th century and the “Plump Animals” or “Slaughter Animals” competition was created in 1844 in Poissy. The General Agricultural Competition was officially launched in Paris in 1870.

In 1925, it moved to the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre and has evolved continuously ever since. Initially reserved for animals only, it now includes competitions for regional and dairy products and wines and has a magnificent showcase: the Paris International Agricultural Show.

Over the last 50 years the Paris International Agricultural Show has built its reputation:

An unmissable event for livestock farming and genetics
An exceptional showcase for French regional products, regional and international gastronomy, large-scale farming and green tourism.
The first show attracted 300,000 visitors: by 2013, that number had grown to 693,752.

The Paris International Agricultural Show will be held from Saturday 21 February to Sunday 1 March 2015.

Opening hours
Daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., except the "Late night opening" on Friday 27 February from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. (admission closes at 10:30 p.m.)
