The course focuses on risks, risk management, and investment strategies for both defined contribution (DC) and defined benefit (DB) pension plans. Its objectives are to educate the course participants about ways of dealing with pension risks and making good investment decisions. It discusses a wide range of risks that pension managers and pension participants face.

The first day focuses on pension risks. The second day focuses on pension risk management. The third day focuses on investment management issues for both pension managers and pension participants in individual account pensions.

• Problems that plan sponsors and participants may encounter when receiving financial advice.
• Fees for investments and for financial advisers.
• Ways for managing longevity risk in DB plans.
