Pulmonary Oedema Pulmonary oedema also called edema is the accumulation of fluids in the lungs airspaces and parenchyma. It occurs due to failure of left ventricle of the heart or an injury to the lung parenchyma termed as cardiogenic and noncardiogenic pulmonary edema respectively. Pulmonary Effusion Pulmonary effusion or pleural effusion is the accumulation of excess fluid around the lung in the pleural cavity.Treatment varies with the underlying cause of the pleural effusion and may be directed at removing the fluid, preventing its re-accumulation.
