This course provides a focus on ethical issues in transplant practice centered around real-world cases and includes multi-disciplinary panel discussions. Topics covered include ethical issues surrounding live donation, high-risk recipients, non-directed living donors, ventricular assisted devices, payment for donation, end of life decisions and more. The course is appropriate for participants interested in clinical ethics and health care providers involved in transplantation, as well as providers from practices that interface with transplant centers such as nephrology and dialysis, cardiology, critical care, hepatology, and pulmonology.
