span style="font-weight: bold;">The non/fiction International Book Fair is one of the Russian capital’s most important cultural events. It is held every year in the Central House of Artists. The fair has an exclusive reputation and attracts not just dedicated publishers, literary agents and representatives of cultural institutions, but the general public as well. It is organised by the company “Expo-Park. Exhibition Projects”, with funding support from Moscow City.

The fair has been expanding continuously since it was founded in 1998. In 2009, it had 282 exhibitors on an exhibition area of 5,524.3 sqm.

As exhibitors, non/fiction, the book fair for high-quality literature, attracts small and medium-size publishing companies as well as bookshops, libraries and cultural institutions. 18 countries were represented here in 2009, among them Germany, the UK and India.

The non/fiction book fair is a sales and general public event open to all who are interested. In 2009, 29,324 people attended over five days. On the Saturday, the event registered a new visitor record with an attendance of 7,738. The professional programme featured 269 events, including many special interest seminars.

There was also a big response to the fair in all important Russian mass media: television, radio and print media reacted with enthusiasm and reported at length.
