March 15 - 19, 2011
The Spatial meetings are an EMBO Conference Series that aims to bring together theoreticians and experimental scientists working on issues relevant to communication in the spatial dimension within cells. Previous meetings in this series were held in 2007 and 2009.

The preliminary program includes the following topics to be presented by a combination of invited speakers and speakers chosen from submitted abstracts. In keeping with the spirit of previous Spatial meetings, approximately 1/3 of the meeting program will be selected from submitted abstracts to highlight work of young faculty and late-breaking developments.

-Membranes and Cytoskeletal Dynamics in Spatial Signaling
-Dynamics and Kinetics of Cellular Signaling
-Synthetic and Chemical Biology - Applications to Spatial Questions
-Robustness in Spatial Signaling Networks
-Mathematical and Computational Approaches to Cell Biology
-Imaging Spatiality - from Fluorescence to Electron Microscopy
-Long Distance Communication in Neuronal Processes
-Cell Polarity, Cell Shape and Cell Size
