Millennium Cup 2013

The NZ Millennium Cup, which will begin on February 14th 2013, has announced a new contender for the Cup. Dubois-designedOhana(ex G50) is nearing completion at Fitzroy Yachts and will be joining the line up of the February regatta, after she is launched later this year.

The high performance flybridge sloop will be one to watch when she tackles the Hauraki Gulf course against a field which includes veterans of the regatta. Fitzroy Yachts started work onOhanain June 2010 for a European owner and commissioned Dubois Naval Architects for the design work, following other successful collaborations including award-winningSalpertonandZefira. Fitzroy Yacht’s Rodney Martin says that as the largest yacht to enter the regatta so far this year,Ohanawill cut a striking silhouette on the water. “She’ll fly, for the first time, a huge 1,600m2 gennaker made by Doyle Sails”.
