As a result of sustained economic growth, the Industrial demography of Assam is witnessing transformation with change in industrial climate and an upsurge in economic activity. The State is making heavy investments in the development of Roads, Bridges, Industrial & Theme Parks and Urban Infrastructure making Assam an attractive destination for both foreign and domestic investments. The Rs 5,460-crore Assam Gas Cracker project, likely to be operational by 2011, is expected to drive massive growth in key sectors, such as packaging, textiles and agriculture, and boost industrial activity across the North East by providing multiple avenues for investment.
