The Royal Horticultural Halls & Conference Centre has recently implemented a number of recycling polices. Where event organisers use floor coverings, a new term of hire makes it a condition that these must be recyclable. We do not dictate to exhibitors which flooring contractor to use, so long as they offer a full recycling service.
Sustainability
In addition, when the event finishes, our staff will collect together everything left behind - including wood, glass bottles, plastics, packaging, cardboard and so on - and send it for recycling. Exhibitors and organisers don't have to do anything extra, and there is no charge for this.
The Glasshouse at RHS Wisley is surrounded by an attractive new lake, which will bring environmental benefits through responsible water use for the whole of Wisley. Molluscs, damselflies, dragonflies and amphibians will all inhabit the lake. This lake has also been connected to the main irrigation system in order to water the gardens in an emergency.
