Sonar Engineering 2010

Discussing the key essentials and system issues of practical sonar and acoustic systems in context of mine warfare – this course intends to provide delegates with comprehensive knowledge and set of practical skills in understanding modern mine warfare sonar and acoustic technology. It will cover the fundamentals of sonar theory and systems including sound propagation design and use of transducers, reverberation, hydrophones, signal processing and displays. It will also discuss the acoustic systems for mine warfare including single-beam and multi-beam echo sounders, side scan sonars, mine hunting sonars, parametric sonars, acoustic influence sweep systems and acoustic tracking systems.  Mine acoustics, mine logic and mine jamming are also presented. Performance prediction and analysis are also incorporated. The course features real-life examples and case studies as well, to best exemplify the technical concepts being discussed.
