Renewable Energy for Sustainable Territories International Conference 2010

The importance of renewable energy in the global context, establishes environmentally friendly alternatives of respect for the atmosphere and generates the hope of meeting the needs of growth and development necessary for our countries. In this context, interdisciplinary efforts must be met from science, technology, engineering and architecture in order to propose solutions to the challenges that societies face like an increase of energy consumption that becomes a main factor to generate development and competitiveness.

Given this, the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the Catholic University of Manizales (FIA-UCM) has sought to address the issue of Renewable Energy from a holistic view where the Design, Implementation Technology, Environmental Development, Social, Economic and Urban, generate overviews that facilitate the understanding of the context in order to seek higher levels of knowledge that, in the future, allow us to grow with environmental awareness.

Renewable energy will then be the target of study of the International Conference of Technology, Engineering and Architecture that in 2010, will promote the participation of various professions in a single event, which is sure to enrich the audience and will explore possibilities and alternatives that help to generate in the collective, a systemic view from each of our disciplinary knowledge and to respond to the challenges established by a society increasingly committed to lessening the negative impact on the planet.
