In just two editions, VAE expo has established its position as the
annual event for the contemporary catering sector
In France, 7 meals in 10 are consumed outside the home. Working people have busy lives. Over
the last 30 years the time spent around the table has fallen from 1 hour 38 minutes to just 31
minutes. However, consumers are still seeking a level of balance in their diet.
In response to this trend, fast food outlets, convenience stores, theme bars and even trendy
snack bars are promoting concepts which are attracting increasing numbers of French citizens.
Bakeries, caterers and delicatessens have also moved into the food-to-go arena, with takeaway
food now omnipresent.
