October 19 - 22, 2010    Bar Harbor ME , USA
Scope:
This conference will address issues surrounding the multiple pathway hypothesis, diagnostic and prognostic genetic and epigenetic profiling, strategies for early detection, chemoprevention and therapeutics, and progression and metastasis. Each issue will be addressed by a series of short presentations incorporating late breaking information, followed by extensive discussion.  Each discussion will focus on ways to leverage molecular genetic modeling in rodents toward a clearer understanding of colon cancer in humans.

Objectives:
The main objective of this meeting is to ignite an active dialog between clinical investigators and those working with experimental animal models.  This dialog will focus on six areas of investigation, ranging from genetics to cell biology to early detection.  Each Session will be guided by a pair of thought leaders with complementary outlooks.  In addition, an active dialog between pathologists and experimental colon cancer biologists will be carried forward from the Histopathology Consensus Session (immediately preceding the main meeting) and will inform the Research Conference.
