More information on AWRA Spring Specialty Conference
AWRA’s Spring Specialty
Conference on GIS and Water Resources, held once every two years, is a
unique international forum addressing geospatial solutions to the
ever-growing list of challenges and applications in Water Resources.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related
geospatial information technologies have become increasingly embedded in
analysis, planning and management of environmental and water resources
systems. With the rapid growth of online services providing geospatial
data, water data, climate data, geospatial analysis, and collaborative
capabilities, it is more important than ever to share and to learn about
the impacts of information technologies on water science and
engineering. This Specialty Conference continues the AWRA biennial
tradition of surveying the state of knowledge in the field, following
the 1996 conference in Ft. Lauderdale, 2004 conference in Nashville,
2006 conference in Houston, 2008 conference in San Mateo and 2010
conference in Orlando. Because of its interdisciplinary approach to
water resource opportunities and problems, AWRA provides an excellent
professional home for the most comprehensive forum on the application of
GIS and related information systems to water resources engineering and
sciences and for addressing water resources challenges.
The Conference Organizing Committee
invites you to join this important community of scholars,
practitioners, and decision makers in New Orleans by sharing your
experiences and knowledge with an oral presentation, participation on a
panel or in a special session, or presentation of a poster at the
conference. Also, there will be an opportunity to present freeware and
public domain software tools and web services on the conference website
so that other attendees can do
