The Australian International Motor Show (AIMS) will return to Sydney in 2010 with a bigger than ever line-up of new models and concept cars from some of the world's greatest manufacturers.
Until 2008, independent Motor Shows were held in each mainland state with the two largest and most influential, being the motor shows held in Melbourne and Sydney. Prior to the staging of the 2008 Australian International Motor Show (AIMS) in Sydney, the organizers of AIMS, The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI), and the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC), organizer of the Melbourne Motor Show, had commenced discussions to consider options for the future staging and organization of Motor Shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

In early 2009, these discussions culminated in the formation of a Joint Venture between FCAI and VACC to organise Australia’s premier automotive exhibition, which would alternate between Melbourne and Sydney year about, commencing with Sydney in 2010.
