Kuwait is located in the north western corner of the Arabian Gulf (Geographic co-ordinates: 29 degrees 30’N,45’E. Covering a total area of 17,818km2 (6,880 square miles), it has 290km of coastline along the Arabian Gulf to the east and shares a 240km border with Saudi Arabia to the south and southwest. Nine islands are located off the coast of Kuwait – Failaka, Bubiyan, Miskan, Umm Al Maradim, Umm Al Namel, Kubbar, Qaruh and Warba.
