July 25 - 28, 2011    Vail CO , USA
This four-day symposium is an intensive and comprehensive review of state-of-the-art echocardiography for a wide variety of cardiovascular disorders, emphasizing the introduction of new technologies and the use of echocardiographic information in patient care. The central location and presentation schedule are intended to allow the participants to balance the educational aspects of the program with a summertime family vacation in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. This symposium will stress the integration of echocardiography techniques into the comprehensive ultrasound examination. Particular emphasis will be given to new technologies, Doppler hemodynamics, tissue Doppler, diastology, transesophageal echocardiography and heart failure (myocardial and pericardial disease) including cardiac resynchronization therapy. Lawrence W. Gaul, M.D. of the Vail Clinic will coordinate live scanning of patients with various cardiovascular disorders. This session will emphasize the importance of comprehensive echocardiographic acquisition and management of decisions based on echocardiographic data. A syllabus with lecture summaries and selective reprints will be available to each registered participant. Additionally, separate handouts for the basic and advanced Doppler hemodynamics workshops will be supplied to each registrant.
