Private equity backed companies have done much to justify the industry's approach to continuing market turbulence. By demonstrating a level of flexibility and responsiveness not shown by listed corporates these companies and their private equity sponsors should feel cautiously confident when looking to their futures. Deal flow seems to be increasing with many transactions deploying novel structuring and increased levels of equity. Raising debt for new deals, however, remains stubbornly difficult.
