Examining the Impact: Semantic Technology for Business
We've changed our name! Web 3.0 is now the Semantic Web Summit.
The Semantic Web Summit is a day and a half conference that covers the impact of semantic web technologies on our lives. Semantic web technologies, incubated for a decade in research labs, started to impact the mainstream in 2010. We saw serious adoption by Facebook, Twitter, Google, Apple as well as publishers, healthcare, finance and government.
Day 1, November 16, is “University Day,” where you can learn the practical ins and outs of the semantic web, so you can figure our how to apply the technology to your business. Start-ups and large enterprises are already changing the rules in their markets using semantic web technology. This day will give you the practical grounding so that you can do the same.
Day 2, November 17, is the Summit, where we focus on impact. You will learn how the pioneers in publishing, marketing, advertising, e-commerce, market research, business intelligence, healthcare and finance are mining the new sources of profit. Prominent speakers provide presentations, debates, analysis, and opinion to help clarify the shape of the semantic web to come. We will also announce the Semantic Web Impact Award winners!
