Over the years, significant changes have taken place in the industry due to various parameters such as changing food habits, population growth, longer life expectancy, and limited number of children in each family. Each of the above factors wields a strong impact on food consumption patterns.

Food processing is increasing became scientific and research oriented in developed countries with growing awareness of health and food quality among consumers. Food-Pack Malaysia 2010 is jointly organized by Paper Communication Exhibition Service (member of Info Communication Holdings Ltd, a company listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong), China International Exhibition Center Group Corporation, and Guangzhou Mass Exhibition Co., Ltd. The fair is endorsed by Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
Food-Pack Malaysia 2010 will occupy a floor space of 8,000 sq. meters at the P.W.T.C Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur; the fair is supported by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shantou Sub-Council, China Food and Packaging Machinery Industry Association, Taiwan Food & Pharmacy Machinery Manufacture's Association, Federation of Malaysia Foundry & Engineering Industries Association (FOMFEIA), Malaysia Chamber of Rural Entrepreneurs Industry (DUID), and Bumiputra Manufacturers & Services Industry Association of Malaysia.
