Radar has been an indispensable component in facilitating situational awareness and providing combat intelligence. From target detection and tracking, functions of radar have further expanded to target recognition and classification, making radar technology one of the most important factors in mission success.

However, processing of radar signals is often challenging due to presence of various limiting factors including noise and clutter. This is further complicated with increased external interference and advanced jamming techniques from enemies , resulting in poor situational awareness and inaccurate decisions in military operations.
