Upgrading Grid Infrastructure, Installing Public And Home Charging Technologies and Adapting Metering & Billing Strategies To Integrate Electric Vehicles Into The Networked Grid

The imminent roll-out of mass market Electric Vehicles means that electric utilities from around the country will have to deal with a new load on their grids and develop the necessary charging infrastructure both in public places and the home to support them. To do this, they will have to establish innovative business models and regulatory frameworks for making EV charging profitable, invest in upgrading grid systems and adapt cost-effective technologies and metering strategies to support these business models.

The 3rd International Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure 2011 will be the first truly national event bringing together multiple stakeholders including utilities, vehicle OEMs, city planners and federal and municipal regulators to discuss practical solutions for establishing profitable EV Charging Infrastructure and upgrading grid systems to manage the impact of EVs on the grid.
