Northern Illinois 2011 Recap:
Attendance over the two days was 7,370, an overall increase of 5% vs. 2010
The seminar topics at this year's show were especially timely and helped draw top-tier producers. Dr. Darrel Good, agricultural economist and University of Illinois professor spoke to an overflow crowd with his “Crop Market Overview” presentation. Interest was keen in other speakers’ topics including Allendale commodity advisor Jim McCormick’s “Market Analysis” and University of Illinois professor Bruce Sherrick’s presentation on “Land Values and Cash Rents.”
Many attendees took advantage of the annual Pesticide Applicator Testing that was conducted in designated area in the rear of one of the exhibit halls.
Farmers were really spending money this year due to the great commodity prices especially for corn and soybeans.
A number of exhibitors have already requested to expand exhibit space for the 2012 event.
