CARPI 2012 will bring together people from research and industry interested in robotics applications for the power industry. Both researcher enthusiastic to show their new robots and algorithms as well as industrial people proudly presenting their newest implementations or looking for new methods are warmly welcome to participate and contribute.

After the first very successful CARPI 2010 in Montréal, the community declared the wish to meet again every 2 years. Thanks to the Montréal organizers and the enthusiasm of the participants, the next gathering will be in Zurich, Switzerland in September 2012.

The 2nd International Conference on Applied Robotics for the Power Industry (CARPI 2012) is hosted by the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems, ETH Zurich. The meeting will be held in Zurich, Switzerland, on September 11 - September 13, 2012.

Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:

Mobile robotics, telerobotics, teleoperation, mechatronics, UAV, ROV applied to:

-Transmission lines and substations
-Turbines, underwater structures
-Underground and overhead distribution systems
-Hydro, nuclear, thermal and wind power generation systems

Scope of contributions may be:

-Design, simulation and prototype
-New technologies and applications
-Field experience and benefits
-Utilities' technology roadmap presentation
