April 23 - 24, 2012    Woburn MA , USA
The 4th Annual IEEE International Conference on Technologies for Practical Robot Applications (TePRA) will be held in the Greater Boston Area, Massachusetts, USA on April 23-24, 2012. TePRA is aimed at catalyzing the development of enabling technologies and encouraging their adoption by robot designers. With an emphasis on practical applications and industrial participation, TePRA provides researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs and robotics professionals with a forum balanced between an academic conference and an exhibition, while presentations are selected through IEEE's rigorous peer-review process.

Past TePRA conferences featured top level speakers from business, government and academia including Colin Angle (iRobot), Helen Greiner (CyPhy Works), Gill Pratt (DARPA DSO), Mike Rufo (Boston Engineering), Tom Ryden (Northend Technologies), Kevin Blankespoor (Boston Dynamics), Charles Remsberg (Hocoma), Barry L. Shoop (USMA), Jim Overholt (TARDEC), William Townsend (Barrett Technology). As an emerging robotics conference, past three TePRA programs included more than 100 technical paper presentations combined, robot demonstrations, student competitions sponsored by iRobot, panel sessions and exhibits.

The conference theme this year will be new technologies in robotics and automation and their practical applications. While papers are solicited in all related areas of robotics and automation, the conference tracks include:

Robot Applications:

-Medical and Rehabilitation
-Military and Security
-Actuation and Manipulation
-Consumer and Industrial
-Best Practices and Experience Reports

Robot Technologies:

-Robust and Reliable Robotics Technologies
-Resource Aware Algorithms
-Power and Communications
