In order to make a significant impact in targeting neglected tropical diseases, many issues are at stake and need to be addressed. Which diseases are most prevailing and which present newly emerging targets for developing therapeutics? Are there novel opportunities for collaborations? How can the communication and collaboration between the developed and the underdeveloped countries be improved and what are the most pressing issues? Can lessons learned be adapted to different countries or for different diseases? What are the current strategies pursued by consortia and collaboration efforts?
