HIMSS introduces an exciting new conference format - the HIMSS Forum. For our first forum we have chosen Australia where we believe that an increasing number of healthcare IT management and professionals are looking to business intelligence and analytics technologies to help them meet patient safety and business objectives.

THE KEY TOPICS TO BE DISCUSSED AND PRESENTED

HIMSS EMRAM Model
The session will cover the HIMSS EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM) and how healthcare CIOs can use benchmarking to make the case for IT investment internally. The EMRAM scores hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics Database on their progress in completing the 8 stages to creating a paperless patient record environment. Presentations will include case studies of hospitals which have achieved EMRAM Stage 6 and 7 and how benchmarking with the EMRAM gave them a logical path for transformation.

Telehealth
Telehealth technologies need to be embraced and adopted to allow patients continuous quality care. The technology is moving ahead rapidly - and on to devices such as mobile phones - in a way that will make it less expensive and more scalable. This session will examine how telehealth can reduce costs, improve efficiency, and support a higher quality of life for patients.

Social Media Marketing
Health consumers are starting to change their personal health habits to incorporate social networks, PHRs and self-monitoring devices to engage with their health and healthcare. This session will discuss the existing and emerging personal health information technologies and how to best use them to engage with empowered health consumers.

Return on investment
One of the key challenges facing CIOs and governments alike is the return on investment for clinical information technology. This session will present some major return on investment research from the literature and the consulting community. Attendees will take away
