November 20 - 21, 2012
The African Railway Summit
From: 20 Nov 2012 To: 21 Nov 2012 City: Johannesburg

The African railroads are in the process of major overhaul to keep up with the continued economic growth of the continent.

Currently rail networks are disconnected and many need huge investments for dilapidated infrastructure development. Typical railways in Africa are small, run on old technology, are not on standard gauge lines and suffer due to potitical unrest and instability.

It is here that the government of the region are working to build a sustainable railway system.Railway Investment has become a prime focus of both Private sector as well as Government bodies. In addition to reinvestment in the current network, new projects are also on the dawn. The strive is to build a roubust railway system in a changing environment and have safe and cost effective frieght and passenger networks.
