March 13 - 14, 2013    Rio de Janeiro , Brazil
2nd Annual LatAm International Mining Conference

From: 13 Mar 2013 To: 14 Mar 2013 City: Rio de Janeiro

The Centre for Copper & Mining Studies (CESCO) estimates that approximately USD 250 billion will be invested in Latin America mining projects by 2020. Research reveals that Brazil remains in third place (after Australia and Canada) and Chile and Peru have moved up to fourth and fifth. Over the years, the increased number of new projects, mine site expansions and global investments make Latin America the world’s leading destination for mining and mineral exploration. However, the region is no exception to its set of challenges. Certain deposits are located remotely and at high altitudes, which make it difficult to work. Parts of the region are under explored and need the necessary funding and appropriate expertise to develop them. This highlights one of the most common issues facing mining operations; the availability of qualified personnel. Further, problems related to social, environment and infrastructure (such as water, power, etc) also blanket the region.

Successfully launched in 2011, this year, the 2nd Annual LatAm International Mining Conference will be a one stop conference for miners, explorers and investors to think out-of-the-box and come up with a collaborative approach of doing business in the region.
