Cardiovascular disorders are the main cause of morbidity and mortality in many countries around the world including Latin American countries.

Congestive heart failure (CHF) is often the end stage of cardiac disease and is a major chronic condition as well as the most common cardiovascular cause of hospitalizations.

Because of the aging of the population and the rising prevalence of risk factors incidence of CHF is increasing and expected to cause an unacceptably high rates of morbidity and mortality and an enormous cost of caring for a growing number of patients.
