India Japan Global Partnership Summit 2013

The first ever India-Japan Global Partnership Summit (IJGPS) was held from September 5-7, 2011 in Tokyo, Japan. The summit proved to be a milestone in the ever-strengthening relationship between the two countries providing a platform for face-to-face interaction amongst thousands of top business leaders, policy makers, opinion leaders, media leaders & academicians from infrastructure & logistics, healthcare, energy, agriculture & food processing, energy, education, tourism, ICT etc.

It was earmarked by the attendance of PM of Japan, Hon. Yoshihiko Noda and a special written message from the PM of India, Hon. Dr. Manmohan Singh, the summit saw the presence of a wide galaxy of dignitaries including four former PMs of Japan Hon. Shinzo Abe, Hon. Yukio Hatoyama, Hon. Yoshiro Mori & Hon. Naoto Kan besides Sam Pitroda, Chairman of IJGPS and Adviser to the Prime Minister of India, Mukesh Ambani Chairman Reliance Industries Ltd, Takashi Shoda- Chairman South Asia Regional Committee, Rajesh V Shah- Co-Chairman & MD Mukand Ltd. Official delegations from the Indian states of Haryana, Delhi, Kerala, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh attended the Summit.
The major breakthrough of the summit was Smart Knowledge & Agriculture Corridor, Trans-Asian Buddhist Circuit, Creation of India-Japan 2020 Knowledge Hub, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME's), Japan-India-Nepal Partnership.
