Wind power is the fastest growing source of power generation in Brazil. In 2011 and 2012, 50% of all newly installed wind power in Central and South America was in Brazil. With approximately 2.0GW of installed capacity by the end of 2012, and another 6,7GW in the pipeline by 2016, attracting about 15 billion USD in investment, projections for cumulative installed capacity in 2020 are for more than 15GW.
