NGS Workshop Sheffield 2014

BioteXcel is pleased to announce the inaugural Next Generation Sequencing Workshop as part of a longer term annual Summer School in partnership with Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust.
This first event will be a one-day intensive NGS workshop and will be held in Sheffield on 16th July 2014.

Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) has revolutionized genomic studies that are now able to analyze larger regions of DNA and how they may be linked to traits, diseases, responses to drugs and many others aspects. For this reason NGS has been widely implemented in clinical diagnostic labs.

This NGS workshop will be structured as modules consisting of hands on tutorials that will allow a good understanding of:

NGS Theory
NGS Platforms
NGS Workflows
Analysis of NGS data

LAB TOUR
The workshop will include a tour of a clinical laboratory where different NGS platforms are used to give participants a clear understanding and a practical overview of workflows in the context of a clinical diagnostics setting.
